EatOkra


EatOkra is a digital platform that connects customers with Black-owned restaurants, eateries, and events near them. I designed a brand identity to reflect the layers, depth, flavors and vibrancy of Black diasporic cuisine and food experiences.

I used key food words such as heat, spice, flavor, simmer and fry to create a series of brand patterns. The color palette is inspired by the colors of spices, herbs, fruits and vegetables used in Black diasporic cuisine. I used the okra pod and seed icons to create frames for photos throughout the brand assets.

I created social templates as the baseline of the brand execution and the team used my art direction to build out the EatOkra website and brand decks.
